This miracle of Saint Spyridon took place in Mandra, Greece in 1926.

It was 12/25 December 1926. The State Church of Greece had adopted the Papal Calendar and, with the support of the Greek government, persecuted all who did not accept it. The faithful Orthodox Christians of Mandra arose and went to the church of Saint Nicholas to celebrate the Feast of Saint Spyridon. Upon arriving, they found that the church doors had been secured with chains, and the faithful were unable to enter. Before departing to return to their homes, they affixed their candles to the doors. As soon as the last person placed his candle upon the door, the chains broke and fell away. The faithful, strengthened in their faith, entered the church, reverenced the icons, and celebrated the Feast of Saint Spyridon.

The miracle was later reported by the newspaper Skrip.
