From October 10-12, 2025 the Annual Family and Youth Conference of the Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians’ Eparchy of North and South America was hosted by the Cathedral of St. Nektarios in Toronto, ON Canada.
About four-hundred participates, Clergy and Laity, came from throughout the United States and America
The Conference began on Friday evening where the participants got an opportunity to meet one another in an informal atmosphere in the Church hall of St. Nektarios.
On Saturday morning lectures
The annual Family and Youth Conference of the Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians’ Eparchy of North and South America was hosted by the Cathedral of St. Nektarios in Toronto, ON Canada. Approximately four-hundred participates, Clergy and Laity, came from throughout Canada and the United States of America including His Eminence, Metropolitan Demetrius of America, six priests and five deacons.
Themed “The Love of God,” the Family and Youth Conference aimed to foster spiritual growth and fellowship among Orthodox families and youth.
Conference Highlights
- Opening Session (Oct 10): Registration and fellowship with light snacks and opening remarks in the church hall.
- Saturday Sessions (Oct 11):
- Lectures for the adults by Their Eminences Metropolitan Demetrius of America, and Metropolitan Moses of Toronto, as well as Archimandrite Savvas Anastasiou on God’s love for us, our love for God and our fellow man.
- Interactive activities, including a “Friendship Scavenger Hunt” icebreaker and intentional seating at lunch.
- Age-appropriate discussions and activities for children and youth.
- Guided open discussions for adults, focusing on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, exploring themes of love and relationships.
- Evening Great Vespers at Saint Nektarios Cathedral, followed by a social gathering with refreshments.
- Sunday (Oct 12):
- Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Saint Nektarios Cathedral.
- Sunday Luncheon at the cathedral, providing an opportunity for continued fellowship.
The conference emphasized open discussions, Q&A sessions, and socializing opportunities, aiming to create a balanced and engaging environment for participants of all ages. The event provided a platform for attendees to deepen their understanding of God’s love and its application in daily life.
At the conclusion of the Conference it was announced that the 2026 Family and Youth Conference will be hosted by the Parish of St. Nicholas of Myra in Maryland.
